Response Paper #1

I recently watched the movie “Yes Man” Directed by Payton Reed.  I chose to review this movie because it’s a very funny movie and does have a good underlying message. The message is not to be afraid to try new things; in this case Carl (Jim Carry) is an uptight middle-aged man who is always mad at the world. He visits a seminar that causes him to say yes to everything, which results with Carl being much happier. Carl pretty much ends up traveling the world trying all the things he had always been afraid to experience. Carl ends up meeting the woman of his dreams as a result of his saying “yes” to everything. After he begins to embrace everything in his life. I can relate this movie to my life because I have also learned to embrace new situations and opportunities. A lot of people live in fear of trying new things, I have chosen not to. “Yes Man” is a comedy, which is the reason why I watched it. I enjoy watching movies with positive messages because it makes me feel good. The sad part, to me, is that there are some people who do live their life with out trying new things, it’s unfortunate how people can be content without living life to its fullest. Not only is there a great storyline that gets you emotionally attached to the characters but it’s also a flat-out hilarious film that can appeal to all ages.

  1. Forrest,
I feel like I've read an "actual" movie review. I haven't checked this film out yet, but it sounds appealing...
